Creating a Recipe
You can start by searching for what you want to cook or by pasting a link to a cooking video. YesCheff turns the video into a recipe with the ingredients, servings, directions, timings, tools and dietary information brought together in one place. To keep each recipe reliable, YesCheff only uses details it can find in the video captions or transcript. If there is not enough information, it stops rather than adding missing ingredients or cooking steps. Servings can also be adjusted to automatically recalculate compatible ingredient quantities. Measurements that cannot be safely understood, such as “to taste,” are kept unchanged.
Cooking & Recipe Interaction
Recipes are organised into ingredients and directions. The cooking directions are separated into clear steps, so you can focus on one part of the recipe at a time. You can move forward, go back or jump to a particular step without losing where you are. Timers sit within the steps where they are needed, keeping each timer connected to what you are cooking.
Hands-Free
For moments when touching a device is not convenient, voice mode lets you control the recipe using spoken commands. You can start, pause, repeat or move between steps while YesCheff reads the cooking instructions aloud. Voice and touch use the same recipe, so you can switch between them without losing your place. When a step includes a timer, YesCheff reads the instruction first and then asks whether the timer should begin.
Saving, Credits & Membership
Recipes can be saved to your account, so you don't have to generate the same recipe again whenever you want to cook it. Saving recipes uses credits, with more credits available from the Plans page. Becoming a member removes that limit with unlimited saves.
Promotional videos
Launch and micro-interactions videos were created to introduce each version of YesCheff and demonstrate how the product behaves in use.
